Study: More top companies prohibiting LGBT discrimination

A new study from The Williams Institute at the University of Los Angeles has concluded that the majority of top 50 Fortune 500 companies and the top 50 Federal Contractors have policies in place that prohibit discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity. The Williams Institute released a press release stating, “As of January 2013, 90 percent of the top 50 federal contractors prohibited discrimination based on sexual orientation, and 67 percent prohibited discrimination based on gender identity.

The Williams Institute says as of January 2013, 98 percent of the companies surveyed prohibit discrimination based on sexual orientation and 88 percent prohibit discrimination based on gender identity.
