For the first time, students at C.C. Winn High School in San Antonio, Texas elected a lesbian student and her best friend as homecoming queens.
The friends, Eileen Hernandez and her straight-ally best friend Jennifer Mijares, both members of the school’s gay-straight alliance, used equality as their platform.
