Hi Readers! Welcome to our first ever Reader of the Month! We’ve introduced this column so that our readers can get to know each other a little bit better. Also, it’s almost Thanksgiving and we are thankful for all of you! We chose Destiny Hawkins as our first ever Reader of the Month. Destiny is an avid reader of the site as well as a published author. Read on to find out more about Destiny!
Tell us about yourself!
My name is Destiny Hawkins, I’m 21 and I live in Cleveland, Ohio. I work at Keybank full time, and I write part time, but hopefully I can become a full-time writer one day. I don’t do so great working for others.
Who is the most important person in your life?
The most important person in my life is myself. I have people that I care for, but have to worry about me before I can worry about others. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not the selfish type, but I work hard for my success, and I have to take care of me, so I come first.
What do you like to do for fun?
My favorite hobby is writing! I enjoy reading, but writing is my passion. My first book is called Caged and was a bestseller in the lesbian genre, and I just finished the second book in the series. If you’re interested, you can buy Caged here!
What is your ultimate dream vacation?
My dream vacation is a trip out to any island, as long as there’s sand and sun, and for a week I can sip on wine and write a good story.
What is your idea of the best date ever?
A date that I’ve always hoped for? It might sound corny, but I would like to go to a beach at night when the stars are at their brightest and talk about whatever. My favorite subject to speak on is the future; whether it’s about living successful, or us in general.
Why do you love Lesbian.com?
I like reading Lesbian.com because you guys cover things that many don’t. There are different situations, and subjects that are brought to light that not many people speak on. I also love reading it because it’s like watching the news, only everything isn’t negative!
