Ever since she was a little girl, “Glee’s” Lea Michele has been involved with the LGBT community. Growing up in New York, Michele started working for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS as a child.
“I’ve always been in theater, and so the gay community — that was my world,” she said. “That’s where I come from, and so it just feels like part of who I am. To be where I am right now, and to still have that support and to still have that safety net, it really just means a lot to me.”
