This year’s Grammy Awards came to a monumental close when Macklemore and Ryan Lewis performed equality anthem “Same Love” before thirty-three couples were married in a mass wedding ceremony— including gay, straight, and transgender individuals—officiated by Queen Latifah. Macklemore started things off by taking the stage with Lewis, Trombone Shorty, and songstress Mary Lambert, who contributes the female vocal melody to the hit.

After Queen Latifah officiated, Madonna then joined those on stage to sing some of her 1986 hit “Open Your Heart.” Aside from the memorable performance, Macklemore and Ryan Lewis had an incredible night, taking home four Grammy awards.
