Looking for an extra something to do while you’re on vacation with Sweet?

Join Brandi Carlile as Sweet partners with Brandi’s Looking Out Foundation and the Puerto Vallarta Rotary Club to feed hungry families who make their living salvaging at the local dump.

Colonia Magisterio is the community surrounding the Puerto Vallarta garbage dump. Approximately 80 families live at the dump and earn a very meager living sorting through the trash pulling out recyclables and items of little value to be sold to recyclers and scrap dealers.

Each Monday, local Rotarians come together to provide a meal to the mothers and children of Colonia Magisterio. Rotary Club Members and visiting Rotarians volunteer to serve the food to 150 to 300 people. They also distribute donations of clothing, shoes and other items.

Some Sweeties will serve lunch while others will work with the children on a craft project.

Following lunch service, the UNIVA Music Program will perform for the Sweeties and families of the Magisterio area.
