Birmingham SHOUT is Alabama’s first and only gay and lesbian film festival and is proud to support the growing GLBT community in the Magic City, along with providing compelling content for anyone interested in independent films.
The Alabama Moving Image Association was created to inspire, encourage and support films and filmmaking in Alabama. And this is a milestone year; we’ll be celebrating the 14th year of the Sidewalk film festival and the growth of our special screening series.
The 7th Annual Birmingham SHOUT Gay and Lesbian Film Festival shares festival dates and the festival footprint with Sidewalk on August 25th and 26th, 2012. SHOUT began in 2006 and showcases features, documentaries and short films by new and established artists and offers attendees the opportunity to view topics of interest to the GLBT communities, as well as to interact with filmmakers and documentary subjects in attendance.
