Giddyup, cowgirls, NCLR is looking for you. The National Center for Lesbian Rights has teamed up with the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) to reach the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) community in rural America, the organization announced yesterday.
The #RuralPride campaign with target LGBT people living in rural communities across the country and identify federal policy proposals to increase resources for those communities.
The outreach includes a series of summit throughout the country, kicking off June 6 in Greensboro, NC, with co-hosts the LGBTQ Law Center and the True Colors Fund. Summits focus on the needs of rural LGBT folk, federal policies to protect them and identification of further ways to give rural LGBT folk the resources they need to thrive.
