‘We Do’: Marriage equality campaign hits Mississippi

LGBT members living in Mississippi have launched a campaign for marriage equality. As a conservative Southern state, Mississippi seems unlikely to pass same-sex marriage any time soon. Regardless, brave community members are fighting for their right.  Come July, the Campaign for Southern Equality is launching the ‘We Do’ campaign in an effort to push marriage equality forward. 

In Mississippi, 26 percent of same-sex couples are raising children, which is the highest percentage of any state in the United States. However, only 31 percent of Mississippi residents are in support of marriage equality.
