Stephanie Figarelle and Lela McArthur were the first same-sex couple to ever get married on top of the Empire State Building last Valentine’s Day. Suzanne Venker, who believes women should stop trying to compete with men, wrote an article on Fox News stating the importance of opposite-sex marriage. The article also included a beautiful photo of a happily married couple on their wedding day kissing on top of the Empire State Building.

The photo that Fox News accidentally used was of Figarelle and McArthur on their wedding day. Figarelle took to Facebook to comment on the matter. She says that she was not offended by being referred to as a man. “I figured out who I was at a young age and I have cultivated a deep sense of self-trust and unshakeable confidence in the process. I am fortunate to have a wonderful, support [sic] and loving wife who I got to marry at the top of the Empire State building almost one year ago.”
