The first annual OutWest Film Fest will be held in Reno, NV on October 16 – 18, 2015. For three days, downtown Reno will host screenings and parties to celebrate LGBTQ films.

The event starts on October 16th with a Kick-Off Party at West Street Market featuring a band and drinks and is followed on Saturday with films at the Good Luck Macbeth Theatre and the Nevada Museum of Art.

The Museum of Art will host the critically acclaimed “Matt Shepard Is A Friend of Mine” at 4:30pm followed by a Q&A session with a local producer of the film. At 7pm will be the 30th Anniversary showing of “Desert Hearts” which was filmed in Reno and Pyramid Lake. Following the movie will be a Q&A with the film’s director.

Following the discussion will be a VIP Meet the Filmmakers Party at Harrah’s Reno and a Western theme party at the 5 Star Saloon.

Sunday’s schedule includes a full day of films at the Good Luck Macbeth Theatre and a closing night party where prizes will be awarded to the top films, including an audience award.

Films screened include local and international LGBTQ documentaries, shorts and feature films and tickets can be purchased at http://outwestfilmfest.org/tickets.
