(October 17, 2016 – New York, New York) The Gender Conference East Conference aims to provide a safe and supportive space dedicated to addressing the needs of children and youth from across the gender spectrum, as well as their families and the professionals working with them. This 2 day convening will be at The DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel, 128 Frontage Road, Newark Airport, New Jersey on Friday, November 11, 2016 from 7:00am-7:00pm and Saturday, November 12, 2016 from 7:30am-6:00pm. It is being presented in partnership by the Gender and Family Project of The Ackerman Institute for the Family, PFLAG-Howard County, PFLAG-NYC, and Hetrick-Martin Institute.

The conference will feature a wide range of programming, such as:
• A professional symposium on legal, health care, mental health, schools, intersectionality, faith, legal, multi-disciplinary and research
• How to advocate for your children
• A separate track for elementary, middle, high school and young adults

This event is for accepting and supportive families, caregivers, and caregiving professionals.
